The Opacity Catalogue
Published in 2022, this publication is a reflection on the 2021 Flaherty film seminar Opacity programmed by Janaína Oliveira. It was edited by Carol Almeida and Dessane Lopez Cassell. Designed by Darwin Marinho, Rid, and Ella Monstra of Carnaval no Inferno collective.
The catalogue is bilingual and comprised of 231 pages of text and images—113 pages in English followed by 116 pages in Portuguese. It includes film synopses, essays by Janaína Oliveira, Tina Campt, Tatiana Carvalho Costa, and Amaranta César, as well as interviews with Grace Passô by Christopher Harris, and Athi-Patra Ruga by Yeelen Cohen.
